No Such Thing as Partial Obedience.

As part of the lesson that God is teaching me about no more excuses and the profound effect that we let excuses dominate our lives, God has been showing me that there is no such thing as partial obedience.  Either you are obedient or you are not.  That is tough to hear and even tougher to understand.  Because we are human and we have sin in our lives no man of this earth can be obedient 100 percent of the time.  It is a question of whether you are disobedient on a habitual level.  All men will slip its how you react to that failure that often determines if you can more forward within God’s will.

Case in point, I have a really bad habit of watching TV programs that do not reflect Christian values.  In fact they fly completely in the face of God’s word.  Shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice and such.  As a Christian I have to ask myself this simple question, why do I subject myself willing to the sin that is perpetuated in these programs?

How about my schedule?  I often find myself looking for opportunities to skip discipleship opportunities because schools out for a long weekend or there is a big football game or race.

I don’t really know where all this is leading me in my day to day life but I do know that is drawing me closer to God.
